Royals Round 18 Preview
The Royals head to Claremont Showgrounds tomorrow to take on Claremont. The Club has been hit hard by the Beau Chatley incident last Saturday but are looking to tomorrow’s fixtures with a ‘business as usual’ outlook.
The League has been forced to make a few changes after last week’s hard fought win against arch rivals West Perth. The inclusions of Lewis Jetta, Mark Hutchings, Mitch Brown, Xavier Ellis and Tom Cole are exciting ones for the Royals. Claremont have been very strong through the midfield in previous years. These changes set up a thrilling contest.
The Royals will look to big man Paul Johnson to continue his form with ruck partner Jonathon Giles being selected for West Coast this week. Rookie Tom Gorter will have a big job in defence against the strong bodies of Claremont. He will share these duties with Mitch Lague. Since coming into the League team this year both Lague and Gorter have proved themselves more than capable at League level in a fantastic sign for the Royals future.
The Reserves take on 2nd placed Claremont in a top of the table clash. The club encourages everyone who can make it down to come to the Showgrounds for this match in a show of strength for the boys.
Our youngest Royals take on 3rd placed Claremont. A win will push them into contention for the top 3. The Colts have been very impressive this year under Coach Adam Pickering.
