Football Operations Manager Departs
East Perth’s long-standing Football Operations Manager has resigned after nine and a half years to take up the Chief Executive Officer position at the Willeton Basketball Association.
A former League and State football player at East Fremantle, Mark came to the club at the conclusion of the 2008 season under the recommendation of Tony Micale.
Over his time at the Royals ‘Winnie” has been a popular member of staff and a constant through changes in the coaching group, playing squad and differing club environments.
The club has participated in two WAFL Grand Finals and two Preliminary finals in that time and also made a semi final of the Foxtel Cup, however we were not able to bring home the ultimate success.
Winnett said “I would like to thank everyone involved at the Royals for their support, friendship over the last 9 ½ years and the people and players of the club are what have made my time an enjoyable one. I would like to wish the club all the best for the 2018 season and have high hopes that the young and exciting group and get back to play finals football again this season”.
The club would like to wish Mark all the best in his new role and hope that he will continue to bring his young family down to Leederville on Saturdays.
