Royals face Redlegs in Foxtel Cup
EAST Perth will face reigning SANFL premiers Norwood in tonight's Foxtel Cup clash at Patersons Stadium.
The match will be the club’s first hit out since the huge 80-point win over Claremont at Medibank Stadium on May 10.
East Perth sat out their first WAFL bye in Round 9 followed by the State game last weekend. Brendan Lee, who captained WA, was the only East Perth representative in the 2014 state side who were victors over the NEAFL by 85-points in Sydney.
Norwood are back to back SANFL premiers (2012,2013) but currently sit in just sixth position with a 3-5 record while East Perth currently holds third spot in the WAFL competition with a 6-2 record.
East Perth are set to field a strong team for tonight’s clash, with Josh Smith and Garry Moss returning. Ten Royals players from last year’s Grand Final are also included in the team while just three of Norwood’s premiership players will take to the field.
Co-captain Wulff will miss the game due to injury.
Moss, Smith, Scott Lycett, Mitch Fraser, Dean Cadwallader, Callum Hart, Will Maginness and Julian Locantro have been included in the Royals line up.
Moss will play his first senior game since requiring a knee reconstruction sustained in the Foundation Day Derby in June 2013, he has played two games back in the reserves making his return to football against East Fremantle.
Forward, Smith, return from an ankle injury that has kept him sidelined since Round 4, Fraser also returns from injury, while Cadwallader is set for his first league appearance since last year's grand final loss to West Perth.
The winner will advance to the semi-final against VFL side Williamstown on July 1.
Bounce down is at 6:35pm and entry to the game is free through Gate 26.
The game will be broadcast live on FoxFooty from 6:30pm and on radio on 91.3 SportFM.
