Three Royals Juniors in AFL World Team
Three young footballers from clubs in the East Perth district have been named in a 25 player World Team to play in the AFL’s Under 16 Championship on the Gold Coast in July.
Dom Sabri (Noranda Hawks JFC), Tarir Bayok (Ellenbrook Dockers JFC) and Eric Bashemule (Morley Bulldogs JFC) have been chosen to represent the World Team, which consists of players from multicultural backgrounds. The team will be coached by former Carlton star, Anthony Koutoufides.
The World Team players were selected by AFL Talent Managers following the Australia Post All Nations Cup held in Coffs Harbour in April.
The squad will take part in education and leadership sessions and high performance training during the NAB AFL Under 16 Championships, as well as visit Gold Coast Suns Football Club and train at Goodlife Health Club, a support partner of the AFL Diversity program.
The World Team will compete against The Flying Boomerangs, the South Pacific and WA North-West at the AFL Under 16s Championships.
