Author: East Perth FC Admin
by Liam Maher
East Perth will be back in action when they take on the West Coast this Saturday morning at Mineral Resources Park. After a strong start to the season, the Royals will be eager to keep building momentum and secure a fifth win from their opening six rounds. West Coast pulled off a big upset win last week, so East Perth should expect another hard contest in this one.

Players to Watch
Angus Scott: Angus was back to his very best last week, collecting 39 Disposals along with 10 Inside 50s. Expect to see the hard-working winger racking up plenty of possessions again this week.
Stan Wright: Stan looked great back in the side last week coming off the half back line. His elite kicking and ability to link up with teammates will come in handy again this weekend.
Xavier Milner: Xavier was one of our standout performers down back last week. His tough contest work and ability to read the play make him an asset to the team’s defensive structure.
Hamish Brayshaw: The co-captain has just been getting better and better as the season has rolled on. On the back of a season-high 32 disposals last week, Hamish is set for another big performance this week.
The Opposition
West Coast sits 1–4 heading into this match, with a percentage of just 72.66. Despite this, they’re dangerous when given time and space, which they showed last week when they beat an undefeated South Fremantle team by 16 points. Like Peel, they do have some quality AFL-listed players on their side, which will also provide tough matchups for opposition teams. East Perth holds a great record against West Coast. The Royals hold an 80%-win record from their last 10 clashes with the Eagles and haven’t lost to them since 2021. However, complacency can be costly, and the Royals will need to bring the pressure from the outset to avoid an upset.
