East Perth’s League side suffered a 32-point loss at the hands of West Perth in the Perth Derby at Provident Financial Oval on Saturday.
The result means the Royals now sit two wins outside of the top four, with one win and two losses for the season.
Despite a goalless first term, East Perth came within 16-points at the final change, after Jayden Magro booted two goals in time on, but the Falcons kicked four goals to two in the last quarter to seal the victory.
West Perth had first use of the ball, winning the clearances 46-34 and contested possession 159-121, and dominated the inside 50 count, with 51 entries to East Perth’s 25.
Acting skipper Jackson Ramsay collected 29-disposals and laid 14 tackles, while defenders Jaxon Cahill, Jacob Msando and Kye Willcocks worked hard in the backline.
In the Reserves, Aaron Ballantyne’s group continued their unbeaten run, with a convincing 40-point win. In the clash of the top-two, the Royals took a 13-point lead into the final change, and ultimately overran the Falcons, booting five goals in the final term.
Daniel Curtis’ Colts suffered a 37-point loss in the opening game of the day. Jayden Colegate collected 23 disposals and laid six tackles, while Jake Littleton, Josh Hubbard, Zac Dronow and Jye Amiss were also named amongst East Perth’s best.
In the Rogers Cup, history was made at Steel Blue Oval, as Jason Bloom's side beat Swan Districts by one-point, singing 'East Perth Forever' for the first time.
