Round 12 Football Department Update
Round 12 sees us return from the WAFL General Bye to take on the West Coast Eagles at Mineral Resources Park on Saturday 9th July.
Although we took home a 78pt victory the last time we met in Round 6, West Coast have been been playing some really strong football over the last month which led to their first win of the season as they defeated South Fremantle by 41pts in Round 10.
We go into this match with the expectations that they’ll field a strong side of WAFL and AFL Listed Players and we’ll need to play our best football in order to take home a win.
THE LEAGUE SQUAD
Just the two changes to the side that defeated Claremont in Round 10 with Key Defender Bradley Fullgrabe out with a low grade ankle injury while Bridgetown youngster Sam Van Diemen has been omitted from the side. They will be replaced by reliable defender Nathan Eaton who has strung together a couple of strong games in the Reserves, and exciting forward Elijah Taylor who comes in for his first League appearance since Round 1.
INS: 17 Nathan EATON, 20 Elijah TAYLOR
OUTS: 19 Bradley FULLGRABE (INJ), 35 Sam VAN DIEMEN (OMITTED)
THE RESERVES & COLTS SQUADS

RECRUITING DEADLINE NEWS
We’re excited to welcome Nicholas Bonomelli and Cameron Davidson to our playing list after both players were traded to the Royals in exchange for Key Forward Eddie Simpson before the June 30th Transfer Deadline.
Bonomelli is a 24-yr-old 198cm Key Forward/Ruck who has played 8 x WAFL League Matches since debuting in 2019. He’s an athletic tall with a good set of hands and adds some real depth for us at the Forward/Ruck position moving forward.
Davidson is a 22-yr-old 193cm Defender who will spend majority of the 2022 season playing with the Collie Eagles in the SWFL while pursuing work opportunities before looking to join the Royals full-time in 2023. Although we won’t have the opportunity to see Cameron much this season, we see him as a great addition for the 2023 season as we continue to build the depth and strength of our list moving forward.
They join Sandon Page (ex-Subiaco) and Matthew Palfrey (Railways - GSFL) as Mid-Season Recruits to the club. Page has been playing some great football since joining us back in early June and will continue to push for League Selection while Palfrey will continue to access the program from Albany for the remainder of the season. He, like Davidson, is aiming to join us full-time in 2023.
Eddie Simpson has joined the Sharks for the remainder of the 2022 season. We wish Eddie all the best and thank him for his contributions to the club after kicking 59 goals across 40 League Matches since crossing from Claremont in 2019.
