2024 Ball Legend
East Perth is pleased to announce that Devan Perry will be our 2024 Ball Legend
Royals’ triple premiership coach Tony Micale described midfielder/onballer Devan Perry as “tough like no other” and a player “who made his teammates stand 10 feet tall”.
The former Victorian joined East Perth in 1995 from Darwin club St Mary’s, where he would return during the off-season, ensuring that he was in tip-top condition for the start of a new WAFL season.
Perry was extremely strong physically, with his inside ball-winning, tackling and decision-making second to none.
He was also a big-match player and an extremely efficient kick, highlighted by the 2001 Grand Final when his three goals and several goal assists either side of half-time put the Royals on track for a crushing victory over South Fremantle.
Perry’s performance was reflected by him being awarded the Ken McAullay Medal as East Perth’s best player in the Grand Final.
Devan was inducted into the East Perth Hall of Fame in 2023.
