Vale Derek Chadwick

With heavy hearts the East Perth Football Club acknowledges the passing of club legend Derek Chadwick

Derek commenced his football career with East Perth in 1959 and over a period of 14 years played a then record of 269 games for the club. A record he held until 2016.

Chadwick’s imposing football career wearing the famous #22 included playing in the 1961 Australian Carnival won by Western Australia. He gained State representation on 22 occasions.

In 1967 -1968 Chadwick was appointed captain-coach of East Perth. Coached 48 games winning 33 games.

Derek Chadwick was one of the State’s most decorated dual sportsmen as both a footballer and cricketer.

As a State cricketer Chadwick played in 65 matches for 3,886 runs at 35.98. Highest score 137, nine centuries and 14 fifties
