Players to Watch

Christian Ameduri: The Captain was at his absolute best last week (24 disposals, seven tackles, two goals) as he led his side to a great victory. Christian will need to be at that level again this week with his contested ball-winning and hard-tackling style of play, being exactly what is needed in finals football.

Coby Burgiel: Looking at X-Factors again, and Coby Burgiel has been one of those players for East Perth this season. His pace and crafty skills around the ball will come in handy as well as his ability to kick crucial goals as he has done so often throughout the season.

Liam Tedesco: One big boost to the team this week is the return of Liam Tedesco. Liam has been a super consistent performer all season, and he is a big game player whose hard running and booming kick will come in handy this week.

The Opposition

A lot can be said about South Fremantle. They have been the benchmark team of the competition all season long. Finishing top of the ladder with 17 wins and  one loss with a percentage of 171.61% paints a clear picture of their dominance this season.

It is also worth mentioning that South Fremantle had the week off heading into this game, meaning their players will be refreshed, recharged and ready to play this week. Last time East Perth played South Fremantle, it was a result to forget.

Earlier in the season, at Fremantle Community Bank Oval, the Royals nearly pulled off the upset victory. East Perth stormed home in that game, and if there was an extra 5/10 mins they might have got the job done. Apart from that game, the Royals have beaten South Fremantle at their home ground back in 2023 and 2024 and have proved they can win at this ground.

East Perth went into last week’s match as the underdogs and will be the underdogs again this week, but they have proved that their best footy can beat any team. South Fremantle have every right to be confident heading into this game, but The Royals have proved time and time again that they are a team to be contended with!
