Crowden Signs with the Royals

Thursday, November 10, 2022 - 10:20 AM

East Perth Football Club is excited to announce that highly sought-after recruit Mitch Crowden has signed with the Royals.

Crowden played 42 games, including 16 in 2021, for the Dockers after being drafted from Sturt in the 2017 AFL National Draft.

In 2022, Crowden finished third in Peel Thunder’s Best and Fairest, averaging 25 disposals and kicking 11 goals in 17 games. He also polled 18 Sandover Votes.

A close friendship with Ruckman Scott Jones and a belief that East Perth is on the up helped Mitch to make the decision to join the Royals.

‘I chose East Perth because of my connection with Scott Jones through our time at Fremantle and also the prospect of playing in an amazing midfield alongside guys like Angus (Schumacher) and Hamish (Brayshaw).’ Crowden said

‘I’m excited to see where we (East Perth) are at, looking at the team on paper I think we could shoot up into finals next year.’

On the Clubs newest recruit, Football Manager Warren Parker said. ‘We are excited to have Mitch join the Royals. He is a high-quality ball winner, who uses it well and has the ability to hit the scoreboard consistently.’

Parker continued ‘Mitch has always impressed us as an opponent with his on-field performances and how highly regarded he is off-field.’

Mitch will join his teammates at pre-season training starting on the 30th of November
