Football Department Update | March 24

SENIOR MEN'S (LEAGUE & RESERVES) FOOTBALL DEPARTMENT UPDATE

A solid hit out for the Senior boys last week v South Fremantle down at Fremantle Oval.

The Reserves played some good football and finished with a win while our League side finished on the wrong side of the result, but showed a lot of good signs as we move closer to the season opener on Good Friday.

One of the key focuses of the preseason matches for our League side is creating on field chemistry with players like Mitch Crowden, Tom North, Alex Pearce, Liam Tedesco, Ethan Regan, Nelson Waite, Riley Saunders, Patrick Reilly, and Jayden Peak all representing the League side for their first-time last week.

Stan Wright, Jacob Msando, Nick Robertson, and Angus Schumacher will come into the side to play West Coast this weekend while Harrison Macreadie will also play for the first time in the Royal Blue and Black.

The League will face a strong West Coast outfit and expect a good contest and will continue to work on preparing for Round 1.

The Reserves side will play a practice match v Mt Lawley at Leederville Oval on Sunday 26, 9:45am bouncedown. This will be a great way to prepare for the season proper and integrate with one of our great zoned club’s in Mt Lawley who will return to the PFL’s A-Grade Competition in season 2023.

In other news, our Leadership Group was confirmed during the week after the players votes were received and ratified. With Captain Jackson Ramsay retiring last season, the task of appointing a new captain for season 2023 was never going to be easy. Hamish Brayshaw and Christian Ameduri were unable to be separated in the voting and we are proud to announce that they will lead the club in 2023 as Co-Captains.
