Payne Running Into Form For 100th Game
Our ANZAC Clash with Perth will see a club favourite, Steven Payne play his 100th game for the Club. Currently on 99 games he has played 96 League games and three Foxtel Cup matches.
A local product from the Augusta Margaret River Football Club Steven joined the club in 2011 impressing many onlookers with his extraordinary athletic ability.
Payney made his League debut in Round 7 that year playing a total of 11 Leagues games and 1 Foxtel Cup match.
The hard running wingman has made the outer wing at Leederville his own, consistently being in our top possession getters. Steve won the 2014 FD Book Medal in what has been his stand out year to date.
In 2016 Payne was named in the East Perth leadership group. After a slow start to the year he has been moved back onto the wing and been in the Royals best for the past two matches. This is a trend we hope will continue against Perth on Saturday.
