Ramsay A Royal
East Perth has won the race to secure exciting former East Perth product Jackson Ramsay for the next two seasons.
A courageous and composed defender with pace and an excellent work rate, Ramsay graduated through the East Perth development system after coming to East Perth from Coolbinia Bombers JFC.
Ramsay was recruited from East Perth to Collingwood at Pick 38 in the 2012 National Draft. Ramsay debuted for the Pies in the penultimate round of 2014. Jackson was the second youngest player on an AFL list in his debut year, however his discipline and tenacity at the contest made him a standout in the VFL.
Injuries plagued his time on the Collingwood list. Now fully fit and returning to WA in outstanding condition East Perth are excited to see what Ramsay can deliver for the Royals.
‘It is fantastic to have Jackson back at the Club. ’Football Operations Manager Mark Winnett commented. ‘Jackson and the Ramsay family have maintained a strong connection with the club and Jackson is a player of considerable quality with his best years well and truly ahead of him, he is a player who will add further quality to the East Perth list and I look forward to him having a strong impact both on and off the field at our club in the coming seasons”
Ramsay joins Sharrod Wellingham as key additions to our list for 2018 and 2019, and with the recent re signings of FD Book Medallists Mitch Fraser, Nathan Blee, Julian Ameduri and a host of other senior and emerging Royals the club is well placed to challenge the remainder of the WAFL competition in 2018.
