TEAM: One change for Bulldogs clash
Following consecutive wins over Subiaco and Swan Districts, East Perth have made just one change ahead of their Round 8 clash with South Fremantle.
Key forward Jonathan Freeman has recovered from a cork injury and will take his place in the Royals’ line-up for the league side’s must-win clash against the Bulldogs at Fremantle Community Bank Oval tomorrow. Developing big-man Tom Amos will make way for Freeman.
League coach Jeremy Barnard’s group remain just one win and percentage outside of the WAFL top four, with two home and away rounds remaining. The Royals will need to defeat the ladder leading Bulldogs to remain in contention for the finals race.
The last time the Royals clashed with the Bulldogs at the Fremantle Community Bank Oval venue was in Round 7, 2019, with the visitors going down by just one-point.
Tom Amos, Mitchell Dobson, Jordan Hayden and Taylor North have been named as League emergencies.
In the Reserves, East Perth will face the third placed Bulldogs. Coach Aaron Ballantyne will welcome back Tom Gorter (quad) and Ben McGuire (foot) from injury, while off-season recruit and key defender Bradley Fullgrabe will also make his return to football after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in the pre-season.
Daniel Curtis’ Colts side will be bolstered by the return of co-captain Adam Boules from injury for the Royals’ clash with South Fremantle, while Jack Hindle has earned an opportunity at Reserves level. Hindle is a big bodied, mobile defender from Dunsborough. Jye Amiss, Sokaa Soka and Joshua Hubbard continue to develop as strong prospects for the future of the club.
The Rogers Cup women’s team finished off their season last Saturday night, in a tough match against South Fremantle. It was a positive first year for Jason Bloom’s group, as the club builds towards the 2021 season.
Reserves bouncedown is at 12.00pm and Colts is at 9.30am.
League bouncedown is at 2.35pm. Tomorrow's match will be broadcast live on 91.3 Sport FM, with coverage from 2.00pm.
Royals fans are encouraged to watch the match from an East Perth supporters’ zone and pop-up bar, located at the north east section of the oval.
