East Perth vs Claremont Match Preview
Tale of the Tape – A disappointing two point loss to last place West Coast all but put an end to the Royals finals aspirations for 2021. Still a ‘mathematical chance’ for 5th spot, a win against Claremont is a must along with some other results to fall the right way.
A good showing against the Tigers in the Round 8 encounter will give the side confidence going into this week.
Regardless, the East Perth players will be looking to show improved performance and consistency through the remainder of the season. Finally being able to have stability in the League 22 along with competition for spots from players in the Reserves, the Royals will be given their best chance to put their best foot forward
Claremont will be keen to keep their position in the Top 2 ahead of their top of the table clash against Subiaco next week
The Ins and Outs – With the game being on Sunday the Royals have named four inclusions to the extended squad of 26. In the mix is ruckman Ajang Ajang, long kicking backman Nathan Eaton, exciting forward Sebit Kuek and young midfielder Harley Sparks.
Claremont have named one out with Dylan Smallwood out of the side last week with five inclusions named on the extended bench
Last time they met – In slippery conditions an undermanned East Perth took it up to the highly favoured Claremont for the first half. Claremont’s maturity eventually overcame a plucky Royals outfit to win by six goals
Stat of the Week – The Royals last win against Claremont came in Round 17 2017 with the Royals beating the Tigers 11.8 74 to 10.10 70
