Match Preview Round 20 vs East Fremantle
Tale of the Tape – The battle of the Easts is sure to be an intriguing tussle. With both teams unable to make finals, preparation for 2022 will get a kickstart in the next fortnight.
Off the back of a disappointing showing against Swans last week, East Perth will be looking for a much-improved performance. There will be several players in both grades looking to impress and press their claims for Round 1 selection next season.
Look for the Royals to return to the high-pressure game style that has served them well over the past month.
East Fremantle will be full of confidence after they startled top of the table Subiaco last week. On the back of their highly fancied recruits the Sharks kicked seven goals to none in the third quarter to run away with the match. The Royals will have to combat the influence of East Freo’s big men Hugh Dixon, Jonathon Marsh and Luke Strnadica.
PLEASE NOTE: There is no Colts match tomorrow
The Ins and Outs – East Perth have made two changes to last weeks side with the return of Matt Young and Brad Fullgrabe from illness and injury. Jack Cooley and Colt Kade Dittmar have been omitted.
East Fremantle have added experienced trio Blaine Boekhurst, Cam Eardley and Nick Kommer replacing Brynn Teakle, Durak Tucker and Tim Bockman.
Last time they met – East Perth had much of the running early, however were unable to take full advantage of the tricking East Freo Oval wind kicking inaccurately. An eight goal to two, third quarter blew the Royals away leading to a four goal Sharks win.
Stat of the Week – The Royal’s worst head-to-head record against any side our history is against East Fremantle, languishing at just below 45%. Something the boys will be looking to better on the weekend
Broadcast – This week’s match will be streamed via the East Perth Facebook Page and is broadcast on SEN Radio https://www.sen.com.au/wa/
