Match Preview - Round 21 vs Subiaco
Tale of the Tape – It is the last game of the season for our League tomorrow again against League leaders Subiaco. The Royals will be looking to retain the North Perth Community Bank Cup against our co-tenants.
After an up and down year, East Perth will take to opportunity to use Subiaco as a yardstick for where the playing squad is.
The Round 1 side of 2022 will have at least two changes with veterans Nathan Blee and Rohan Kerr both advising the Club during the week that this week will be their last WAFL games.
Subiaco are coming off a bye last week and will be preparing for a big run into the 2021 finals. Everyone at East Perth would like nothing better than to knock off our neighbours.
The Ins and Outs – The Royals have made three changes to the side that narrowly lost to East Fremantle last week. Mitch Dobson, Sebit Kuek and Corey Watts come into the Seniors. Dobson has been in scintillating form in the Reserves whilst being managed back from injury. Kuek is the leading goal scorer in the Reserves competition and will make his first appearance in the League since Round 2. Watts comes into the side to add height against a tall Subi outfit.
Harley Sparks had some hamstring awareness during the week and will not be fit to play. Forwards Stan Wright and Ben McGuire have been omitted.
East Fremantle have added experienced trio Blaine Boekhurst, Cam Eardley and Nick Kommer replacing Brynn Teakle, Durak Tucker and Tim Bockman.
Last time they met – Way back in Round 1 East Perth put up a brave showing. Two key injuries before half time meant the Lions eventually overran the valiant in the second half. Nick Robertson was a standout with 30 possessions and a goal
Stat of the Week – Julian Ameduri has also advised the Club he is retiring. ‘Rocky’ is one of only three players to win an FD Book Medal and Eric Smith Medal for East Perth. The other two players are Brendan Lee and Steven Payne
