FD Book Medal Night
Congratulations to 2021 FD Book Medallist Christian Ameduri. The 22-year-old from Noranda Junior Football Club stormed home in the final rounds of the season edging out wingman Angus Scott and clearance specialist Aiden Lynch.
Christian made his League debut in 2019 playing eight games in his first season, and five in the shortened 2020 season. Ameduri qualified for the Reserves 2020 final series, culminating in a best afield performance in the 2020 Reserves Premiership.
Starting the 2021 season largely as a run with player, Christian has established himself as a hardworking, tough, bona fide midfielder in his own right with his toughness and relenting attack on the ball setting the tone for the side week in week out.
Christian and his brother Julian (2017) become the first set of brothers to win FD Book Medals.
Angus Scott is now a proven model of consistency with his third top 4 finish in three years including back-to-back runner up awards. The hard running, high possession getter has made the wings at Leederville his own since moving from the VFL.
A convert from the old enemy, Aiden Lynch has proven his doubters wrong showing he still has plenty of good football left. Doing his best work in and under at clearances Lynch was a barometer at times for the Royals in 2021 and importantly stepped up when a number of senior players were unavailable.
Mandy Anderson, Jeremy Silcock’s sister presented the Jeremy Silcock Trademark Award, voted on by the players, to Christian Ameduri and Sam Van Dieman. Christian is now a two-time winner of this award with Sam taking out the Reserves award in his first year back at the club after serious injury kept him out of 2020. Van Dieman is a 20-year-old from Bridgetown who comes to work hard, play hard and get everything out of himself. He has improved in every game he’s played and can be counted on to put the team first making him a worthy winner of the Award.
Congratulations to all our Award winners for 2021 and thank you to everyone who joined us on the night
