WAFLW Leadership Group Announced
by Angus Schumacher, Football Operations Manager - Women's
It’s all systems go for the East Perth Women’s program, as we finalise our preparations for the season ahead. Our two squads have had a busy month, which has consisted of a heavy pre-season training schedule as well as our Team Building and Leadership camp, which was held at Perth College. After completing several team building and bonding activities, both Rogers Cup and WAFLW squads voted upon their leadership groups for the season ahead, with the below players selected for the roles:
WAFLW
Captain: Jessica Valvasori
Vice-Captain: Chloe Sauzier
Leadership Group Members: Julia Uhe, Shannon De Bari, Taylah Horsham
Rogers Cup
Co-Captains: Matilda Sim & Jordan Della Franca
Vice-Captain: Layla Firns
Leadership Group Members: Mia Pappas, Makayla Rogers, Grace Dombroski
To finalise our pre-season work, both our Rogers Cup and WAFLW League played their first practice match on the weekend just gone versus West Perth, with our second and final warm up match this Sunday at Leederville Oval. Rogers Cup bouncedown is at 12pm, followed by a 2pm bounce down for the WAFLW – please get down and support both sides in their final tune up before we take on the Falcons in Round 1 on Saturday, March 11.
If you would like to further show your support for our players as they embark on their inaugural season, please join us from 6pm at the Leederville Function Centre on Thursday March 2, for the WAFLW season launch and jumper presentation.
We look forward to a historic month for East Perth Football Club and hope to see you all there on March 11 for our first ever game in the WAFLW League.
Go Royals!
