Football Department Update | April 6
SENIOR MEN'S (LEAGUE & RESERVES) FOOTBALL DEPARTMENT UPDATE
by Warren Parker, Football Operations Manager
We finished our Preseason Matches with a hit out against West Coast on 25th March with some real positives coming from the match. Nicholas Bonomelli finished with 5 goals, looking a real threat up forward. The midfield continued to show positive signs with newcomers Mitchell Crowden, Alex Pearce, Tom North and Liam Tedesco all starting to build chemistry with Scott Jones, Hamish Brayshaw, Angus Schumacher, Christian Ameduri and the rest of the midfield brigade. Stan Wright and Corey Watts were also strong in defence.
Harrison Macreadie (Hand) and Jacob Msando (Groin) were the only injuries sustained during the match which will leave them out of Round 1 calculations.
Round 1 is finally upon us and we are all ready to get out there and compete against the rest of the WAFL Competition, starting with Swan Districts tomorrow in a huge Good Friday clash at Leederville Oval.
On paper, all teams look dangerous and 4pts are going to be tough to take home each week which is great for the WAFL. From our perspective, we’re confident in our preparation and confident in the playing group and are looking forward to the challenges ahead as we strive to get back to finals for the first time since 2018.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Our Season Launch held on Thursday 30th March was a great success and we’re grateful for the opportunity to Launch the 2023 season at the club in an official way after 2 years of Covid restrictions limiting our ability to hold the event.
This was a great opportunity to introduce the 2023 Colts and Senior Squads as well as the Leadership Groups, and to hear from the coaches, the club and even Games Record Holder Craig Wulff. Thanks, from the Football Department to all the Loyal Royals that were able to attend, and we look forward to making the event bigger and better in 2024.
