VALE RAY GIBLETT
East Perth sends its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Royal Ray Giblett upon news of his recent passing.
Ray Giblett joined East Perth after a suggestion from good friend Dobby Graham. It was suggested by one scribe wrote that he drove the bulldozer in the country during the week and played football the same way in Perth at the weekends. For eight years 'Gibbo' he played at half back under coach Jack Sheedy, notched up 93 league games, represented WA and played in the 1959 premiership.
In 1967 he joined the West Torrens club before being appointed Captain/Coach of Sandy Bay FC in Hobart. In 1968 represented Tasmania against Victoria.
In 1969 he moved to Broken Hill as coach of West Broken Hill FC and then South Broken Hill before returning to East Perth as coach in 1974-1975.
We know Ray will be missed at East Perth and thank him for his services to the club.
