NAIDOC Round clash with Peel
EAST Perth will take on Peel Thunder at home at Medibank Stadium tomorrow in NAIDOC Round.
The Royals and Peel last met in round one at Bendigo Bank Stadium when East Perth claimed victory by 19 points. In 2013, the Royals claimed two wins from three games against the Thunder. However, with a win earlier this season the Royals will be aiming for three in a row against a Peel side that lost to Subiaco last Saturday.
NAIDOC Round coincides with National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) week celebrations, which are held annually across Australia to celebrate the heritage, achievements and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
All WAFL clubs playing in the Round will wear uniforms specially designed to represent the heritage of the clubs and their Aboriginal players. Our jumper design features boomerangs. The boomerangs represent offence and defence and also the past and present.
From the winning side against Claremont two weeks ago, Cal Sinclair, Adam Carter and Pat McGinnity have been included in the Eagles 25-man squad to face Sydney on Sunday. Kyle Anderson and Garry Moss will miss with injury.
Brett Dobson comes back into the team along with the inclusion of Jamie Bennell and Callum Hart. Mitch Howlett, Mal Karpany, Matt Gordon, Julian Locantro and Steven Wityk have all been named in the 25-man squad.
Meanwhile, from the Peel side that lost to Subiaco last weekend, Kristin Thornton, Anthony Morabito, Hayden Crozier and Tom Sheridan go out. While, Alex Pearce, Tanner Smith and Brennan Gillam come into the side. Craig Moller, Max Duffy, Toby Gianatti and Corey Morris have been listed in the extended squad.
Bouncedown is at 2:05pm.
