East Perth head south to Bunbury to face Swans
East Perth’s last loss was to Subiaco back on Good Friday and the Lions repeated that match winning performance on Saturday leading all afternoon and ending the Royals ten match streak to claim victory by 28 points.
The loss means that East Perth and Subiaco are now equal on the top of the WAFL ladder with 13 wins, however the Royals have a game in hand.
The Lions got out to an 11-point lead at quarter-time and had stretched that to 14 at the main break. East Perth mounted a revival in the third quarter but Subiaco steadied to maintain a 19-point lead at the final change, with the Royals eventually falling by 28-points.
Josh Smith booted three goals from 15 possessions. Will Maginness and Garry Moss kicked two goals each in the loss.
Ruckman Callum Sinclair continued his good form with 24 possessions, 10 marks, 34 hit outs and a goal, combining well with Paul Johnson who had 24 hit outs and 18 touches.
Steven Payne gathered 26 disposals, Brendan Lee 22, Craig Wulff 21, Nathan Blee 20 and Brant Colledge 20.
East Perth face Swan Districts at Hands Oval in Bunbury on Saturday.
RESERVES
Steven Wityk kicked two goals and gathered 14 possessions in the Reserves 4.10 (34) to 16.2 (108) loss.
Agid Gardoud and Matt Gordon also kicked a goal each.
Julian Ameduri racked up 24 disposals, Tom Shanahan 23 and Dylan Main 20.
COLTS
18-year old Tyler Keitel continued his good form, a week after being invited to the draft combine, kicking three goals in the Colts 6.4 (40) to 11.5 (71) loss.
Tom Gorter, Tim Pittaway and Kester Decke also registered on the scoreboard kicking a goal each.
Zac Dent had 27 possessions, Jake Anderson 23 and Tyler Ipsen 22.
