Royals down Thunder
EAST Perth recorded big victories in all three grades and claimed the minor premiership running out 66-point, 14.21 (105) to 5.9 (39), winners over Peel in Mandurah on Saturday afternoon.
The win improves the Royals to a 16-3 record with one game to go of the home and away season. We begin the finals with a second semi-final clash next weekend.
The Royals fielded another two debutants on Saturday with Julian Ameduri and Beau Chatley getting their opportunity after good form in the Reserves. Chatley replaced injured defender Kyle Anderson and was solid down back gathering 17 possessions and Ameduri collected 16 touches and kicked a goal.
Josh Smith booted four goals and ruckman Paul Johnson, three. Craig Wulff, Callum Sinclair, Brant Colledge, Steven Payne, Ash Smith, Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls all kicked singles.
Wulff led the midfield collecting 29 possessions, Brendan Lee 26, Dean Cadwallader 26, Mitch Howlett 26, Steven Payne 24, Freddie Clutterbuck 23, Smith 21, Colledge 21 and Nathan Blee 21.
East Perth will face Claremont this weekend, August 30, at Medibank Stadium.
RESERVES
Agid Gardoud kicked three goals and Steven Wityk two in the Reserves, 10.17 (77) to 5.8 (38) win.
Omodei collected 26 possessions, Van Dijk 25, Slater 23.
COLTS
The Colts huge 112-point, 18.9 (117) to 0.5 (5), win was bolstered through strong performances from Tyler Keitel who kicked eight goals and Mitch Dobson with three.
Jake Anderson gathered 25 touches, Dobson 21 and Linford Smith 19.
