Moss on Track
GARRY Moss is tracking well in his first full pre-season since 2013.
The left-footer has had an uninterrupted start to 2015 after an unfortunate couple of years with injury.
“I haven’t missed one session, so it’s the first time I’ve really done a full preseason for two years.”
Moss, in his comeback from a knee reconstruction (2013), was dealt another setback just six games in to his return – injuring his finger in Round 21 against Perth at Lathlain and all but ending his 2014 season.
“The finger is going pretty well. It’s getting there slowly, I haven’t had any trouble with handling the ball or anything”, he said.
Moss said the squad are progressing well, despite the challenge of Tuesday’s two kilometre time trial in warm conditions. Perth’s temperature that day peaked at 38 degrees.
“It was pretty hot and pretty hard, I’ve still got a little bit of work to do but I think most of the boys were pretty happy with their times and I think we’re heading in the right direction.
“Probably as a team we haven’t been good enough on the day two years in a row. We understand that we’ve still got a lot of work to do to even make it again.
“We just know we’ve got to be a bit stronger and harder at the contest when we get there”, he said.
Moss said the prospects of newcomers Damian Lee and Dwayne Lake will provide a lot of promise for East Perth’s supporters.
“Damian Lee’s come up from Busselton, he’s about 21 or 22, he’s a bit of a clone of Binga (Brendan).
“They move exactly the same and we’re hoping for pretty big things from him”, Moss said.
