Craig Wulff set to play his 250th WAFL game
Our round five clash against Peel Thunder is shaping up to be a belter with both teams looking to secure their third win for the season and the ‘loyal royal’, Craig Wulff appearing in his 250th game for the mighty black and blue. The Royals will head into the match with fresh legs and plenty of rest after a bye week. The return of injured ruckman, Paul Johnson will add impact as will Wulff’s zeal to perform in his milestone match.
Wulff debuted for the Royals in 2002 as a nineteen year old and has been a pivotal player in the East Perth outfit for over a decade. He won the clubs best and fairest honour in 2010 and was runner up in 2009 and 2012. He has represented his State including captaincy of the WAFL side in 2012 and he also co-captained the Royals to two Grand Final appearances in 2013 and 2014. The life member of the club will be making his own luck on Saturday, wearing his infamous No.13 jersey in front of a huge crowd anticipated for Saturday’s clash at Medibank stadium.
Peel Thunder’s Colts and Reserves sides will both be looking to score their first win of the season with a less than impressive start to the 2015 fixture. Meanwhile, East Perth’s Colts are chasing back to back wins and our Reserves will be seeking redemption this weekend after their loss to Subiaco in round three.
East Perth have won 80% of head-to-head matches against Peel Thunder and they show no signs of letting this statistic slip. Colts kick off at 8:25am, Reserves 10:55am and first grade will play at 1:40pm.
