Royals District Development
Over the past week, the Royals District held their Auskick Gala Day and School Holiday Super Clinics encouraging kids to get involved in football and to develop their skills and potential.
On Sunday July 5th, the Royals District Year 1s and 2s Auskick Gala Day attracted over 350 Auskickers and 1,000 spectators who participated in five rounds of Auskick grid games at Langley Park. The Gala Day was made all the more special with a visit from a number of East Perth FC senior players including Craig Wulff and Paul Johnson who wore the umpires hat in an afternoon of fun and games in the city.
Following on from the Gala Day success were the two Super Clinics held at RA Cooke Reserve in Morley. Monday featured 60 Auskick kids and a number of West Coast Eagles players including Andrew Gaff, Callum Sinclair, Fraser McInnes, Jack Darling, Scott Selwood, Will Maginness and Xavier Ellis who dropped in for a Q&A session and signed posters, hats, footballs and t-shirts. Despite the wet weather conditions on Tuesday, the Modifieds Clinic was a chance for all the 9 to 12 year olds in the district to brush up on their footy skills and learn from an army of 30+ East Perth FC Colts players.
Both the Junior Super Clinics saw more than 100 participants, which was a fantastic turn out in what has been a jam-packed week of Aussie Rules. The Royals District would like to thank the National Australia Bank, City of Perth, City of Bayswater, East Perth District Football Development Council and the WA Football Commission.
