Pre-Season Training Update
The players have been back in training for 4 weeks, training an impressive 4 times a week in the pre season training program under new Senior Coach Jaymie Graham and his team of coaching staff who include Luke Dwyer, Adam Selwood, Russell Thompson, Mark Nicoski, Luke Webster, Ray Smithers, Adam MacMahon and Ian Lee.
Senior squad numbers have been solid with 65 players in the current squad and attending each of the senior sessions. 2014 Book Medallist Steve Payne has been running well leading the group out during time trials whilst young players Shayne Hille, Scott Jones, Tom Hodgson, Julian Ameduri, Will Young, Tom Gorter, Jobe MacShane and Tom Omodei have also been impressive on the track in the opening weeks of training.
Captain Brendan Lee, Vice Captain Kyle Anderson and established senior players Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls, Garry Moss, Mitch Fraser and Nathan Blee are all looking fit and niggle free in the lead up to Christmas, whilst reigning Book Medallist Paul Johnson and the evergreen Craig Wulff have been on modified training programs aimed at having both ready for the start of the new season.
We also have some new faces in the squad this season and all of these players have enjoyed the program to date and are making solid progress in the lead up to the Christmas break, which has been very pleasing to see.
The Colts have a squad of 107 players and have also had outstanding numbers to both city and country training sessions at present and under the guidance of new Colts Coach Adam Pickering the players are learning all the time with talented playesr Sam Powell-Pepper, Stan Wright, Mitchell Dobson, Tarir Bayok, Christian Ameduri leading the way for the other players to follow in the first month of training
