Cooper Stephens joins the Royals!

The East Perth football Club is delighted to announce the signing of AFL player Cooper Stephens!

Hailing from the Geelong Falcons in the NAB League, Stephens joined AFL side Geelong with pick #16 in the 2019 National Draft. He made his debut against GWS in Round 8, 2022, amassing 19 diposals in an impressive first outing. He played seven senior games in 2022, averaging almost 11 disposals.

Stephens was traded to Hawthorn as part of a three way deal that saw Oliver Henry move to Geelong and Tom Mitchell join the Pies. Despite battling injuries over the past few seasons, he's been a solid performer for Hawks-affiliated Box Hill in the VFL, averaging 14.5 disposals in 2024, and collected an outstanding 28 disposals against Frankston in Round 22 of the 2023 season.

Stephens is a big bodied midfielder who we're sure will thrive off Jones' ruck dominance and work with the likes of Brayshaw, Ameduri, Tedesco, and Scott to continue the Royals' WAFL midfield dominance in 2025 - we can't wait to see what he brings to the table next season.

Welcome Cooper!
