2014 FD Book Medallist Steven Payne has signed on for 2017. The athletic wingman from Margaret River joins 2016 FD Book Medallist Mitch Fraser and Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls as the Royals earliest signings for the 2017 season.

After an injury plagued season Payne will be looking to regain the form that won him the Best and Fairest award in a season where the Royals were Minor Premiers and made the Grand Final.

East Perth Football Club has appointed former East Perth Captain and current West Coast Eagles development coach Luke Webster as League Coach for the 2017 season. Webster will replace 2016 League Coach Jaymie Graham who has taken a senior coaching role at the Eagles.
