NAIDOC Round in the WAFL on Saturday not only saw the competition pay tribute to the contribution of the Aboriginal culture, but also saw five fascinating match ups with Subiaco and Claremont surging ahead while West Perth, West Coast Eagles and East Perth won important games.

All five matches took on greater significance as the race for the finals heats up in the WAFL in Round 13 action and there were a host of standout individual performances to go along with the big results from a team perspective.

The early starting match on Saturday took place at Mandurah's David Grays Arena with West Coast Eagles winning a third straight match, beating Peel Thunder 10.16 (76) to 3.10 (28).

Round 13 Colts Wrap

THE 2019 WAFL Colts competition is taking shape in fascinating fashion with Peel Thunder remaining clear in top spot but then West Perth, Swan Districts, East Perth and Claremont jostling for spots, and reigning premiers Subiaco breathing down the necks.

The first colts contest of the round took place at Claremont Oval and it was Claremont who kept themselves comfortably in fifth position by defeating the bottom place South Fremantle 13.10 (88) to 5.4 (34).

Reigning premiers Subiaco kept its finals hopes alive as well with a strong 11.14 (80) to 5.10 (40) against East Fremantle at Leederville Oval.

Round 12 Colts Wrap

PEEL Thunder has shot clear on top of the WAFL Colts for 2019 following a win over Swan Districts on Saturday while there were also Round 12 victories for East Perth, Claremont and West Perth.

Peel and Swan Districts have been the two standout teams so far in the colts season for 2019, but now it is the Thunder who have pulled away two be two games and significant percentage clear on top of the ladder after 12 rounds.

The Thunder and Swans met for the first time of the season this Saturday at Mandurah's David Grays Arena and it was Peel who proved too strong, beating Swan Districts 10.17 (77) to 5.9 (39).

The East Perth Football Club will celebrate 100 years since its first Premiership in 1919 by wearing a one-off heritage design uniform and launching a commemorative book ‘1919 The Royal Domination Begins’ during the Round 12 clash against Perth on the 29th of June.

Optus WAFL Round 8 Wrap

THE WA Day long weekend saw the five WAFL matches spread across three days beginning with a nail-biting Perth win on Saturday before Claremont and Subiaco won solidly on Sunday and then in two tremendous traditional derbies, South Fremantle and East Perth were victorious.

The WA Day Round is traditionally the biggest occasion of the home and away season any WAFL campaign, and certainly with the five contests across the three days the 2019 version was no different.

The Round 8 WAFL action got underway with a standalone clash at Lathlain's Mineral Resources Park with Perth coming from behind to defeat Swan Districts 11.14 (80) to 11.8 (74).

Round 8 Colts Wrap

SWAN Districts, Peel Thunder and West Perth all scored Round 8 WAFL colts victories across the WA Day long weekend to consolidate top three positions in the competition.

Round 8 of the WAFL colts competition began on Friday evening at Mandurah's David Grays Arena with Peel Thunder proving too strong for reigning premiers Subiaco, winning 9.8 (62) to 5.7 (37).

There was then one lone fixture on Saturday at Lathlain's Mineral Resources Park and that saw Swan Districts continue its undefeated start to the 2019 season, beating Perth 15.15 (105) to 6.4 (40).

Royals Sign Sharp Shooter Simpson

The club is pleased to announce that it has signed key forward Eddie Simpson from Claremont this week. The 22year old,  196cm, 96 kg product from Swanbourne JFC, has been a consistent goal kicker in the Colts and Reserves for Claremont for the past 3 seasons.
